Texas couple Penny and Tom Chase are this year's recipients of the Central Texas Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals' Philanthropists of the Year Award, the Waco Tribune reports.
The Chases have been philanthropists in Waco for decades and have given millions to dozens of community organizations.
"Penny has always been vibrant, engaged, and creative with respect to organizational efforts, governance, and most importantly, giving of her own time, talents, and treasure as well as helping to access the gifts of others," former executive director of McLennan Community College Foundation Harry Harelik wrote in his nomination letter.
They've also been "strategically involved with Planned Parenthood for over 40 years," a Planned Parenthood philanthropy officer says.
They've also helped raise millions for the Audre Rapoport Planned Parenthood Health Center.
They're also behind the Together No Matter What campaign, which aims to increase health equity and reduce poor health outcomes in communities throughout Texas.
"I can confidently state that this would not have been possible for Waco Foundation without Nicole Wynter's leadership, insight, and commitment," an executive director says.
